Getting You Ready For The Track

"DRIFTERS HELPING OTHER DRIFTERS DRIFT"

Team no tread is a grassroots drift team made up of drifters helping other drifters drift! Anyone and everyone is welcome to apply and support the team from beginner to experienced. We are trying to build a community of drivers that anyone can recognize at the track and know they can ask for help or get help from anyone running our decals/banners. (Driver Mission Below)
There is a progression we follow that allows you to learn at your own pace while having opportunities to advance your skills at each event. We do this by offering drift clinics and tandem practice hot laps that are designed to give you more seat time while allowing tires and car to cool off thus conserving your equipment. We achieve this by classifying drivers based on skill and releasing groups at intervals providing less waiting and more drifting.

Mission of our Drivers

- Offer help or advice to new drifters entering the sport. such as, help them figure out where to sign up, info on tech specs and where to go for that, advice on drifting, jumping in the car with them, letting them ride with you to see how it's done, help with tools or diagnosing car problems. We want to welcome all drivers to the team or event and give them a good experience. / goal for the driver:  we all have our reasons for helping others so you might just get the good feel's from it!!!
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship both on and off the track. Strive for excellence in showcasing our brand in a positive light. Demonstrate dedication, skill, and commitment to the sport to enhance our reputation and credibility as a supporter of motorsport. Goal for the driver: be a respected drifter amongst the drifting community!
- Volunteer your services and advice or techniques at TeamNoTread drift clinics and tandem practice events.
- Benefits of a team no tread driver  /  first invites for drift events go to team no tread drivers, discounts on tires, large network of drivers to collaborate with, more drivers that are willing to tandem with you at other events, team support in competitions,

Driver Classification

D-4 Drivers - beginners that spin out regularly or a couple of times per lap, beginner drivers with nice cars that want plenty of space between release. Usually we release the next driver after half a lap completed / Goal for the Driver - learn the car by doing donuts first switching sides - learn how to transition by doing figure 8's - learn how to link different corners on hot lap runs - progress to linking full course - link course with minimal or no spin outs. Cars will be released in larger gaps usually 1/2 a lap so you will still have to look out for others drifters that may have spun in front of you giving them plenty of time to control before you get there unless, they spin out again. Stop drifting and drive past. Spun out drivers stay still until driver has passed then rejoin track safely
D-3 Drivers - beginner drivers that spin out less often maybe once per lap , beginner drivers that want to tandem with agreeable drifters, 2 drivers only in this class. We usually release drivers after 1/3 of the lap / Goal for the Driver - Learn how to link the course while others are closer in front and behind you, this will get you used to paying attention to the driver in front, simulating what you would do in a tandem! For Tatum drivers to get semi close but not too close and practice for moving up to the next class.
D-2 Drivers - experienced drivers that want to tandem with other experienced drivers that occasionally spin out. You can tandem with up to 5 drifters - there will be a small gap with your group, hand signal the number in your group and we will slightly stall the release of the next group / goal for the driver - learn how to tandem with someone close in front and someone close behind watching all cars on the tracks keeping your senses heightened on all things track related. If you are a D1 driver that wants to only tandem with your group then get in this link and signal number of drivers.
D-1 Drivers - expert tandem drivers that rarely spin out!!! Release is the entire group all at one time - could be 7 to 20 car trains /  Goal for the Driver - get used to the chaos of competition drifting and having the pressure of not spinning out in a very high pressure situation - if you want to move up to competitions this will definitely get you ready to compete!

Drivers Meetings

- Explain D1 thru D4 drivers lanes
- Yellow / caution on track, slow down, stay aware! If someone spins out in front of you then straighten up, drive past them then continue drifting.  The spun out person should stay put until you pass so you can go to either side of them then they continue before the next car gets to them.
- Red Flag / slow to a stop do not continue and stay in car unless on fire
- Black Flag / stop there maybe something wrong with your car or bad accident ahead. Stay in your car unless car it's on fire.
- If your car breaks on track and you are ok signal with tapping the top of your car. / if you wreck your car and are ok wave like you're waving at us / if no hand signals we will assume you need medical attention / unless your car is on fire stay in it until track official arrives to make sure nobody is on track
- Explain Track layout and what to expect / have copies of layout to pass around / talk about difficult areas and maybe what gear to try
- Explain any do's and dont's of the team and the track
- Please clean up after you and your crew as we want to set a stellar example to the track so they will welcome us back with open arms.

Hot Laps are designed to give the driver more seat time while allow you to learn new drift techniques, cool tires , cool engine down, etc.  Each track will have a layout to follow. The goal is to link one corner at a time until you can link the entire track without spinning out.
